8 Types of NGOs According to Orientation & Operation

 As one of the environmental NGO in Ahmedabad today we will be discussing NGO types which could be known with their orientation and degree of ooperation. 


NGO forms by orientation:

Charitable Orientation 

frequently entails a top notch paternalistic campaign with very little involvement from the"beneficiaries". It has NGOs with activities geared toward fulfilling the demands of the bad -supply of food, clothes or medicine; supply of housing, transportation, schools etc.. Such NGOs can also undertake relief activities through a man-made or natural tragedy.

Service Orientation 

comprises NGOs with actions like the provision of health, household pplanning or instruction services where the programme is devised from the NGO and individuals are expected to take part in its own impementation and in getting the support.

Participatory Orientation 

This is distinguished by self-help jobs where local men and women are involved especially in the execution of a project by donating money, tools, land, materials, labor etc.. From the classical community improvement project, involvement starts with the requirement definition and proceeds into the preparation and execution phases.

Empowering Orientation 

This is the point where the intention is to assist poor individuals develop a clearer comprehension of the societal, political and economic elements impacting their own lives, and also to reinforce their awareness of their potential capacity to command their lives. From time to time, these groups grow aroud a issue or a problem, occasionally out employees from NGOs play a facilitating role in their own development. 

Types by level of operation

CBO

Whatever the situation, there's maximum participation of those people with NGOs acting as facilitators. These may include sports clubs, women's associations, neighbourhood associations, educational or religious organizations. You will find a big assortment of them, some supported by NGOs, national or global NGOs, or bilateral or global agencies, and many others independent of external assistance. A few of them have state and cuty branches and also help local NGOs. Their activities range from mostly funding local NGOs, institutions and jobs, to executing the jobs themselves.

National NGOs

Organizations such as the Red Cross, YMCAs/YWCAs, organisations of practitioners, etc. A few of them have branches of state and cuty and even assist local NGOs.

International NGOs

 range from royal gencies like Redda BArna and Save the Children associations, OXFAM, CARE, Ford and Rockefeller Foundations to religiously inspired groups. Their activities range from mostly funding local NGOs, institutions and jobs, to executing the jobs themselves.
